The North Devon Link Road serves as a gateway to northern Devon and northern Cornwall, connecting the regions to the rest of Devon and the UK via the M5. There was long-term local concern that the transport connections to the northern Devon area were not what the public and local businesses required.
Tim was appointed to assist with the very accurate demand forecasting and economic appraisal. Although road building is now frowned upon by many, – the economic benefits have been sustainable and environmental impacts were reduced through new flexible design standards. This project has had a spectacular impact on the local area – most locals could not imagine how they ever did without it!
