Tim initiated the project concept and basic specification through a series of feasibility studies. In the early days the local response was quite hostile but eventually the project was embraced by the planning authorities and developers and received over £90m of government funding.
Tim presented the scheme to the 1997 Cambridge retail inquiry and even made an application for Millennium funding to build the project. At 25 kilometres (16 miles) The Cambridgeshire Guided Busway is the world’s longest guided busway.
